Environmental Virology Laboratory, Tor Vergata University (URV) is a research laboratory involved in the Environmental Virology. This laboratory is part of the Department of Experimental Medicine and Surgery in the Faculty of Medicine of the State University “Tor Vergata”. The main lines of research of URV are: The standardisation of procedures for virus recovery from different environmental matrices such as drinking water, surface water, seawater and wastewater, using different methods of concentration until the most recent ultrafiltration; isolation and identification procedures of enteric viruses with traditional tests and with more recent molecular tests, such as hybridization, RT-PCR and qRT-PCR.
