Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME)'s Department for Sanitary and Environmental Engineering (DSEE) has 22 academic staff, 3 technician, a secretary and 5 Ph.D. students. The profile of BME (DSEE) covers education, research, R&D activities and consulting related to Urban water management, including water supply; wastewater management, water quality management, modelling and monitoring, flood management and environmental impact assessment and environmental management.
The activities of the department cover education, research and consulting, and international technology transfer and cooperation with universities, research institutes. Staff members participate in the activity of a number of international organisations such as IWA, EPA, IAHS, IAHR, UNESCO, FAO, the World Bank, WHO. BME work with clients from the industry, and local, regional and governmental authorities. International clients include FAO, IIASA, UNESCO, The World Bank and EBRD.
