DIN Deutsches Institut für Normung e. V. (DIN) is a non-profit organisation recognized as a German National Standards body representing Germany in European and international standardisation activities (CEN and ISO). DIN prepares standards as service for the economy, research, state and community. Standardisation is considered to reduce the need for legislation and to support the convergence of technologies while allowing for a wide range of localized solutions if needed. R&D Phase Standardisation covers any activity with the aim of early identification of standardisation potential of products and services, establishment of standardisation processes and assistance with public availability of the results of these processes. Because of this, the sustainable transfer of knowledge and technology will be enhanced and accelerated in innovative fields.
